Introduction to Painter Yang Changcun |
| Yang Changcun was born in 1949, in Shenzhou city of Hebei province. He is an accomplished contemporary painter, a full-time painter of the Research Center of Calligraphy and Painting, China Art Institute. In 1989, he was enrolled by the famous painter, Fu Shishuang, who is a direct disciple of Qi Baishi. Mr. Yang specializes in Qi style’s flower-and-bird painting in Daxieyi (freehand brushwork) technique. His painting style is wonderful, marvelous and austere, and the nature he creates in his paintings is dulcet. His work 《The Spirit of Lotus Flower》has the honor of acquiring the prize of the Great Exhibition of National Calligraphy and Painting of 1989, and was kept in Zhong Nanhai. 《Pine & Eagle》, having the personal epigraph of Bo Yibo, was collected by Central Bureau of Retired Veteran Cadres. General Administration of Sport sent his painting 《Longevity》to the International Olympic Committee as a gift. 《The Pure Spirit of the Country》was chosen by the Australian Exhibition for Chinese Paintings of 21st Century. Still there are many other works treasures up by such organizations as Chinese Red Cross, Olympic Center, and collectors from Japan, Singapore, Switzerland etc. |
